“ Very happy with our experience, but it may have had something to do with having driven 8 hours beforehand. The steak was TERRIFIC. Seasoned, tender, hot, everything great. The sides were almost as good. Service was prompt and friendly. The restaurant atmosphere, furniture, and fixtures are a little... worn down. Also, a bit... dirty, BUT, that STEAK!! The overall condition is most likely from decades of being absolutely packed, and the staff just trying to serve as many people as they can without going insane. But that steak. Wow. ”

“ Never tried a Cattleman's. Beendriving by them for 20yrs or so but hadn't ever stopped by. They didn't disappoint. Now while not life changing, it was solid. and I like just plain ol, good service, good drinks, and good food... Now it's a big place but we could see it could get busy as we luckily timed it right before the dinner rush. I had a prime rib medium rare, on masters with broccoli nice. she had a NY strip medium, with baker and veg. the waitress suggested the butternut squash it was yummy. the all you can eat salad was a big hit for us and there was no shortage of steakhouse ranch as our waitress kept it coming. The Cowboy Lemonade, well yes please ill have another. graciously suprised, and happy we went. Wold consider it as a road stop on any trip. Was great to get off our feet, get treated well, and have a good steak! ”

“ Just about everything went well the day we were there. They gave me one of the best Peet's specials I've had in the long time! They gave us good drinks, the service was great! Carol started well and ended well! The place is so cool with the huge timbers from years ago! Loved the place! ”

“ This became one of my new favorite places to eat! Our server was Candy, she was attentive and kind. She offered great menu suggestions and kept our table stoked with their amazing house sourdough bread. I ordered the Rustlers Rib Eye Steak with mashed potatoes as my side. While we waited for our food, we were served a salad for the table, pot of beans and sourdough bread. The beans are probably their worst thing they serve and would not recommend trying them, but they are served to every table, so we just set them to the side. The salad is tasty and they have an array of salad dressings to choose from, I recommend the house made ranch. I loved my steak and I didn't use any BBQ sauce with my steak. I think their steak doesn't need any sauce because of the seasoning and juiciness of the meat. I chose to add seasoned butter to the top of my steak and that added a lot of flavor too. One thing I have noticed is that they typically under cook the meat, for instance I asked for medium and I was served medium rare. My mother in law asked for medium well and it came out medium. Keep that in mind when you are ordering, we had to send back my mother in laws steak to get cooked more. The ambiance is very homie and has a hunting cabin feel to it, which I appreciate. ”

“ Shrimp cocktail and fried tumble weed onions are amazing. Ribeye steak cooked to a perfect medium rare. Service is friendly and fast. Waitress checking in on us, almost every time she passed by. AYCE salad is definitely a plus. Go to steak house when near Redding, CA. Deep friend apple pie ala mode is a must to end the meal. ”

“ Ambiance: super casual Service: super nice and attentive Food: love!! I love how they cooked both the prime rib and cowboy steak to medium rare. Both were flavorful and no complaints! But their crab legs were the best here!! You taste the sweetness and freshness and dipped in their drawn butter was perfection!! “ My husband and I came into this establishment for the first time in 12 years for a date night. The restaurant was clean and well-kept and we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. Our server, Jake, was absolutely excellent this evening! He kept our drinks full, offered to keep the menu for a future dessert and kept coming with all the mouthwatering dishes we ordered. We ordered the loaded potato skins for our appetizer. We made sure that it did not come with any ranch, due to my severe egg allergies. Our server brought that out and brought the amazing, mouthwatering sourdough bread out with real butter and our salad with oil and vinegar on the side. We decided to share the 2 lb Sheriff steak and it was cooked to a perfected medium rare. My husband had steamed veggies on the side and I had a baked potato with melted butter and cheese. The whole dining experience was amazing! And while the ranch style beans were not my favorite (Texan here), my husband, who was once a local, absolutely loved them!!! Overall, we would definitely come back for not only the ambiance but for the food as well!! ”
